Sculptures, 2007-

Angle Bracket | the title of this sculpture refers both to the structure of the work and a literary use of the term. In textual criticism angle brackets denote sections of text which are illegible or otherwise lost, where the editor often inserts his own reconstruction where possible within them. In this work, what is reconstructed in the slides is a length of wood carved with familial information taken from the 1901 census, reduced to just a  birth year and profession.

Lightbox | this sculpture represents a continued interest in revisiting, editing and re-working every aspect of studio production, in this instance a lightbox originally produced as an apparatus of display.

The Making Of: Tamping | the title and the image used in this work refer to the making of the artist’s film Tamping. A slide projector, housed inside an acrylic case projects a single 35 mm positive image of the artist during the performance of the film. Over the course of each exhibition the image gradually deteriorates through constant exposure to the projectors lamp.

Finding Fatigue (10 year excursion) | a bespoke lightbox installation of slides documenting 10 years worth of the artist’s work.
